About MYC

The Muslim Youth Camp of California is an independent institution, with no domestic or foreign affiliations. MYC has a rotating elected Board of Directors, responsible for setting general policy and long and short-term goals. Under this Board is an Executive Committee of MYC officers which the Board delegates to implement these goals. The Executive Committee operates the nuts and bolts of the camp each year through a Steering Committee. The Steering Committee officers include the Registrar (who handles all camper registration and record-keeping), Treasurer (who oversees all expenses and income), Counselor Coordinator (who recruits and trains young adult counselors for each age group) the Curriculum Coordinator (who selects the camp faculty and oversees the classes for all age groups, monitoring the carrying out of the annual theme and the intellectual resources for the camp throughout the week), Ombudspersons (who facilitate conflict resolution and make independent, neutral and authoritative decisions in certain disciplinary cases), and Program Director (who oversees the day-to-day functioning of the camp). All positions are completely volunteer and unpaid.
During the week of camp, MYC campers will be aware of these officers and their representatives through posted photographs of staff personnel, staff T-shirts, and announcements given at prayer and mealtimes, and at the opening and closing ceremonies.

The Muslim Youth Camp is a 501(c)(3) organization registered in the State of California.
Donations are tax-deductible.
